Laura Whitmore Wants To Return To I’m A Celeb Spin Off

Laura Whitmore wants to host another series of jungle spin-off I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! - and says she would love to see Gazza in the camp.

The Irish beauty - who has fronted the ITV2 show for two years - has not yet had the go-ahead for a third series, but says that things are “looking good”.

And she insisted she is not in the running to take over from departing Xtra Factor host Olly Murs, because she isn’t ready to turn her back on the jungle show.

Laura told TV Biz: “I miss Australia - the last series of I’m A Celebrity was brilliant. I definitely want to go back this year and things are looking good at the moment.

“I saw Ant and Dec and the producers recently, and we were all reminiscing. Because you see the same people all the time out there it becomes like a family.”

She has a few ideas of who she would like to see taking part in the show, too.

“I’ve heard a few times that Gazza could be on the show so maybe he will,” she said. “That will definitely get column inches, as I’m sure he’ll be pretty controversial. I don’t know how nice he’ll be or how good at challenges, but I’d like to see him in there.”

MTV Europe star Laura took up the Australian gig after previous host Caroline Flack left the jungle behind to join ITV2 spin-off The Xtra Factor in 2011.

But she insists she has no intention of following in her predecessor’s footsteps now that Caroline’s co-host Olly Murs has quit to focus on his music.

She said: “I get asked about X Factor quite a lot, but I just want to get back to Australia at the moment - I don’t think I’m ready to give that up just yet.”

She went on: “I saw Olly this week and I told him I’ll be sad to see him leave, but he feels his music is doing so well that he can’t [stay]. As far as I know Caroline is doing it again, which is good because she’s brilliant at it.”

Laura, who was linked to Niall Horan earlier this year, also opened up about her friendship with the 1D singer. She said: “The One Direction boys are never in one place long enough to party. I know Niall because he’s a friend of a friend from my hometown, and when he’s in town he likes a bit of normality so he hangs out with the Irish crew.

“We’re not going out - I knocked that rumour on the head straight away - but you can see how quickly things build up.”

Laura also hosted the Brits ITV2 coverage this year. She said: “That was a really big night. I was hosting with Rizzle Kicks - who I love to bits - and we had that backstage crazy carnage going on.

“At one point at the Universal after party I was in the DJ booth with Mumford and Sons, Taylor Swift, Carey Mulligan and James Cordon. That was fun.”

However, Laura said her party girl tag is off the mark - because she recently quit booze to focus on work.

She said: “Most of the events I’ve been pictured at have been for work, and I wasn’t even drinking.

“I had to give up alcohol recently because I was working too hard. My job has to come first. Especially during Fashion Week, you could go to these things and drink to your heart’s content, but you wouldn’t be able to get up the next day.”

She added: “That said, I had Paddy’s Day in New York and that was another thing. It’s about balance.”

Right now, Laura is supporting the Tag Your Bag initiative, which allows people to earn Nectar points when they donate clothes to Oxfam. She said: “It’s a great idea - it’s simple and gives people a real incentive.”

Sharon To Mentor Her Acts By Skype

SHARON OSBOURNE may be back on The X Factor but her acts may not get quite the close-quarters mentoring previous hopefuls enjoyed.

She’ll be jetting back to the US several times during the series, forcing her wannabes to keep in touch via Skype.

The veteran star, who returned to the show yesterday declaring herself “the nan of the panel”, will fly first-class between London and LA, with ITV picking up the £13,000-a-trip tab.

The flights are necessary because she is also hosting US chat show The Talk. Shazza tweeted: “How lucky am I to have 2 jobs @TheTalk_CBS & @TheXFactor?

“I will be going back & forth all yr, best of both worlds!”

But the to-ing-and-fro-ing will infuriate her performers who rely on their mentors to coach them.

Shazza, who quit the show after the 2007 series, will sometimes have to rely on the internet video call service to keep in touch with whichever category she gets this year.

Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh greet crowds outside city's Hilton Hotel for first round of auditions

A source said: “Sharon has done a deal which will see her jet back and forth a number of times, with her flights paid for by ITV. That was one of her conditions.

“But she is still confident she can give her acts the support they need.

“There are a million ways to keep in touch with people. Many of the judges aren’t there every day of the week.”

Last night a show spokesman insisted she would only fly back “a couple of times” when the live shows were on, with the bulk of her travel around the auditions and boot camps.

Sharon often jetted back to LA when she was last on the show in 2007.

And former judge Kelly Rowland was famously criticised for leaving her acts in the lurch. She flew back to the US after a row with Louis Walsh and Tulisa, then skipped an entire weekend, forcing former show star Alexandra Burke to step in.

Sharon is understood to want to spend as much time as possible in the US as she attempts to patch up her relationship with husband Ozzy.

We revealed that the pair were living separate lives after he confessed to taking drugs and drinking again.

She also wants to be there for son Jack, who has multiple sclerosis, and daughter Kelly who had a health scare in March, collapsing with a seizure.

Yesterday Shazza regained her slot on the judging panel for the first round of judges’ auditions in Glasgow.

The back-to-basics format saw her, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger whittle down the first batch of 50 wannabes in a private room at the Hilton hotel.

But despite talk that she would want to be the boss, knocking Barlow off his perch, Sharon insisted she was happy to play second fiddle.

She said: “I shouldn’t be head judge - I laugh too much and I’m not serious enough. I’m the nan of the panel.

“It’s overwhelming. Honestly it is. It feels natural, it feels like I should be here.”

Gary said he was apprehensive about Sharon’s return, saying: “It’s very interesting this time because there are two artists and two managers.

“That is a great panel right there because managers see different things than artists see.

“When I’m looking at someone I’m comparing them to what I am and what I do - but managers don’t. They have a bigger overview.”

Louis said he was delighted his old pal Sharon was back.

He added: “Sharon brings the madness out in everybody. She’s going to bring out the madness in Gary too.”

Frankie Cocozza Left Shop Without Paying For Alcohol

Cops were yesterday probing supermarket CCTV of Frankie Cocozza using a self-service checkout - after the bad boy X Factor reject left with booze that was not paid for.

The singer - booted off the ITV1 show two years ago for taking cocaine - was said by a source to have repeatedly keyed in his card’s PIN code but the transaction never went through.

Store chiefs in Brighton called in police, who yesterday confirmed they were investigating whether the failure to pay for a “small number of items” was “a genuine error or a shoplifting incident”.

The source - who said Cocozza shops there “all the time” - revealed: “The footage shows he has entered his PIN a number of times.

“It is unclear whether he thinks the transaction has finished or whether it is deliberate. He’s walked away and the transaction is incomplete.

“There’s no way of knowing whether it was shoplifting or a genuine error.”

Cocozza, 20, who has appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, was yesterday said by his agent to deny any involvement in the alleged incident.

Sharon Osbourne At The First X Factor Auditions

Sharon Osbourne makes an entrance at the first day of X Factor auditions on the arm of two topless hunks.

The new judge was escorted from her car by the Glasgow locals ? who’d opted to wear kilts for her big day.

Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow headed inside the Hilton hotel to watch the hopefuls.

New panel - Sharon, Louis, Nicole and Gary and host Dermot O'Leary.

Unlike in previous years, singers have been asked to impress the judges in an intimate room with no audience or backing track.

Sharon, who wore a white jacket with beads, said she's excited to be working with Nicole Scherzinger.

The former Pussycat Doll looked like a sex kitten in a snakeskin outfit topped off with red heels.

Sharon said: “I love her. I’ve known her for a long time, she is fantastic.”

The 60-year-old famously clashed with Dannii Minogue during her last stint on the show in 2007.

According to reports, X Factor producers organised a ‘peace’ dinner for the new panel on Monday on their first night in the city.

As she linked arms with her helpers outside the venue, embarrassed Sharon joked: “How bad is this?”

She added: “I can’t even begin to put into words how I feel. It’s fantastic to be back, it’s a dream come true.”
